If you find out why, share it buddy. I guarantee you if I walked out to my roadster right now the oil cap is halfcocked. I added a PCV system which eliminated the oil drips, no blow by on my firewall or glass but that damn cap is always askew. I chalk it up to vibration but no other car of mine does it. At least you know it isn't a "north of the border" ailment.

I just had a thought, a chrome bail like on a M/C. Easy to make, looks kinda cool, oil cap stays on. Win, win, win!

That would do it for sure. In your case the cap does not breath as you have a pcv installed, I was thinking of making a capture system similar to a roadraft tube that would be fitted to the filler pipe and connect to the bottom of the breather cap after pushing it down securing it and allowing the blowby to run down an attached pipe to a vented can to capture the oil that otherwise ends up on the engine and windshield...primative and hokey...yes, but I think it would work.

The lack of pvc really hasn't seemed to overly affect engine performance and frankly it is venting thru the cap...

This engine was in this car since 2010 and it was down a third or less of a quart after 500 miles so I figure most was released thru dripping oil pan, rocker covers and blowby...I see no visible smoke thru the pipes...

  6. Don't buy yer beers in a place like that, eh? I saw a movie once about two brothers that bought some beers at a store like that and one of the bottles had a LIVE mouse in it, eh? That was some scary shit! I think it was a documentary film made as a public service, but I'm not positive...

I don't care where you get your beer have a peek before your first swig...shit happens...I didn't get a mouse but I did get a mouthful from a bottle that got through capped that must have been a waste paint bottle...that 1st and only swig was instantly airborne...honestly I don't want to know what it was...got a couple free cases over that...

Think we need some spring Canadian Bacon!! Attended a swap meet a little ways out of town and ran into @Jethro finally and got to see his coupe in person. Killer car. Nice little 3 window at the swap meet as well and couldn't help but snap a pic of this super cool old outboard motor for sale. I love old stuff! Let's see some more bacon gents!

Ok I’m back again …. Our 1st monthly meeting of the exclusive COVID CRUISERS…. Ya I know wtf Covid , but here’s the background. When the GREAT LOCKDOWN happened, and all the shows , cruise ins , were closed a few of us old friends decided we would meet once a month halfway between our towns , Regina and Saskatoon, and we took all the precautions, distancing etc , always outside , you all know the drills. Anyhow it worked out great and we continued on . So today was our first for 2023 …. And will continue , old friends telling lies , having a brew , and catching up after a long winter ….. 3F0FBA81-1EB0-4130-8590-BD2AEF511640.jpeg

    Second shakedown run is done.
Took the truck around the block, down the street and far enough from home to make me nervous.

Truck did all right… had a slight bog/hesitation coming from a dead stop.. 1/4 turn on the idle speed screws and the truck cleaned up nicely.

I now live my life 1/4 of a turn at a time

Got home and it looks like I have a weep from the water pump side of the lower rad hose
