Aboard the Coho, the greatest little ferry to service the island. Built in 1959 and rarely misses a sailing. B.C. Ferries. Could learn a lot from her.
Well old quiet Victoria is starting to look like hot rod heaven !! They are rolling in fast from near and far.
Always quite a carnival atmosphere when the mainly Bay area crowd arrive with a ferry load full of cars. Never seen it myself from a spectator perspective but it feels kinda special behind the wheel of a 32 roadster - sad we're not there this time. The bar / hotel overlooking the ferry port is a good vantage point and that street seems to be where most of the non show action is - already shown in some of the pics. Probably a good idea to find out when that ferry arrives. Al Clark or his helpers will know as they do put on a bit of a splash. Have a great time (how couldn't ya?) and post up pics
I think I may have been the dirtiest person to ever walk into the hotel grand pacific (in coveralls on my lunch break). But I'm registered.
Check out this live Web Cam. Should be busy with Hot Rods all Weekend in front of the Empress Hotel. http://royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/web-cam/
Did you guys keep driving until you ran out of dry land? It's like the marching band from Animal House. Just keep marching into the alley until it's a log jam. Nice turn out though. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Vancouver Island is one of the most beautiful parts of the West Coast. God's country. It doesn't get much better. Enjoy the ocean and all the natural beauty as well as the hot rods. What more could you ask for ?
chevbucket, you can run, but you cannot hide... Deucedreamer, when this half-witted clown strolled into the middle of my photo, I told him I was gonna make him famous, I am a man of my word...
I believe that! The grass infield at Clover Point was full of cars, first time I'd seen that! It was fun!
HAAAA!! That's awesome! I'm not sure how I managed it, but that's the second show in a row that I've parked in the exact same spot. It makes it super easy to get out. It's too bad we didn't meet up. I was lookin for ya wearing that rodders journal t-shirt...unfortunately I don't think you were the only one wearing a RJ shirt. Lol.
The other great part of being there this weekend was I have never heard so many Sweet sounding Flatheads, I am not a Flathead Guy (never had one) , but boy do they sound Great!
there was one that REALLY sounded snarky. Fedman, that midnight blue '51/'52 ford pu that's in my albums that Emily commented on sounded pretty rowdy too. It was a lot easier to run into guys on Friday night or Saturday, by Sunday it was pretty hopeless, the crowd was REALLY thick.
