i wanna say teeny tiny Abody mopar. like what they sold ya with a slant 6 or 2 bbl 318. if memory serves (it rarely does) i wanna call it a 7 1/4.. but again, refer back to the shitty memory thing. shape of the pumpkin and those itty bitty tubes are what i'm guessin off of.
Not sure it's a small Mopar. I think even the little Mopars (7 1/4 is right) had a drop-out pumpkin rather than a rear cover. Looks like it has a 10-bolt cover....
i dont think its a mopar if it is its pre 67 i had a 71/4 in my 67 barracuda the flat u-jiont flange doesnt say mopar to me EBBSPEED 71/4 mopars have a 10 bolt pan on them
You might have it upside down...Kinda hard to tell from the pics..look for the vent hole..it it is facing down, it needs to go the other way. Also, don't put much power to it or you will have to pick up a bunch of little pieces.. Good luck, -Abone.
Hmm...I looked at your pics again..I don't think it is upside down, but it is still a pencil dick rear end. As long as you never make it handle alot of torque, you will be just fine. -Abone.
Not 100% sure,.. in fact I might be way off base,... but I think Ford used Dana Rear axles after the Banjos and before the 9" & 8" units,.. the 9" being introduced in 1957. I think this might be one of those 1956 and earlier Dana's,.... But I could be wrong.
Studs or bolts for the lug bolts? do both wheels have right had threads or does the left side have left hand threads? And what bolt pattern does it have? Does the axle have a flange on it or does it go through the hub and hold the hub on?
Probably somewhere in the 49/56 Ford group then unless. 5 on 4.5 would be car and 5 on 5.5 would be 49/51 Merc or truck.
nope, my dart dumped its guts out the backside.. not literally mind you, but it did have the bolton cover.
7 1/4 mopar is an integral carrier axle, not a removable chuck like an 8 3/4. That being said, that is not a 7 1/4 mopar in the pic Here's a chart I drew up a while back:
