can somebody help ID this tach......

    this item was found in a box full of chevy and harley parts a buddy got at a yard sell. can anybody help ID this item (what does it go on and around what year).....thanks for the help

    I think it's a Stewart Warner, dont know what it came from. The round stamp on the back (that's only half on yours) usually have year and month with the letters SW.

    Here's a SW I got, similar to yours. I will check the back of mine later and see if I can see any year/month.

    Checked the numbers in the "stamp" and it looks like I 'm wrong about the "date stamp", because I dont think it's from aug -45... it says: SW, INSP, 845 I'm sure someone know what that means...

    Also got this tach from a 1956 Plymouth Fury so at least I know what year thats from. Simular style though. See below.

    That's built a lot like a friends electric SW speedo, hammertone finish on the back and all. His is early 60's.

    mid 50s - early 60s but thats a guess, based on the likeness to the Fury Tach.

    I think the SW inspected 845 refers to: Stewart Warner, Inpected, with 845 being the inspecters number
