It is not a "Hub Cap", it is a "Wheel Cover". I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

Hopefully this isn't going to turn into another freeze plug/core plug debate or maybe even welch plugs?

Just what is wrong with being right? A hubcap is a hubcap and a wheel cover is a whee cover. You tell 'em Butch!!!

As Daffy Duck said to Bugs Bunny,
"It's a handbag not a purse!". You'll have to see the cartoon first to get it.

I agree with you about ‘being right’........(pssst! you might want to ‘edit’ the “whee”)........;)

  20. And a hub cap goes on a wheel but a wheel cover goes on a rim. !?!?

  21. If you do a burnout in the woods, and there's no one there to hear it. Did it make any noise?
    Yep !

I knew a guy that ran a wrecking yard. (Auto salvage company) His thing was "It's not a motor, it's an engine. Motors are electric." But there is General Motors, Ford Motor Company, motorcycle, Department of Motor Vehicles,

    What was the question?

Wouldn't that technically make a wheel cover a "rim mounted hub cover" ?

    CAN ANYONE IDENTIFY THIS HUBCAP?

I'll take a shot at it...

Some time in the early 20s an investigator found the remains of a once vibrant individual. The violations of said individual were so heinous, all that remained was one item of the complete victim and that was treated to the gruesome act of nailing it to the remnants of a long dead tree in a remote wooded area of New York. Speculation has various names attached, yet so little remains that a true identity may never be possible since such features were common among the population at the time of it's separation. We could only hope a bright and happy life preceded this travesty and we mourn for the survivors. If anyone can possibly help with information leading us to the perpetrator of this act please dial:

    1-800-CAP-TURE

All leads will be kept anonymous unless otherwise desired.

  25. I’ll try to be moderately helpful here. Since this hubcap is lacking a manufacturer name or logo, I would assume that it is an aftermarket piece. It resembles the ‘64 Chevy II hubcap.

It was right off the side of the road on an old bus turn around I think it was a marker of some kind before the tree fell over.

Thanks everyone who responded I looked up some of the suggestions but it doesnt seem to match though it is similar which leads me to believe its probably aftermarket. It is pretty clean so I'll probably hang it on my wall unless anyone has 3 similar ones and needs it
