Can Anyone ID This Old SW Tachometer?

    Picked up this Large 5 inch Curved Face Stewart Warner Cable Driven Tachometer. Anyone seen this before? thanks

    Could be for a diesel engine.

    looks like its off an old boat possibly chris craft or matthews

    but i could be dead wrong too just reminds me of the kind of styling they used

    3000 RPM's is a pretty low speed engine - industrial maybe???
     

  5. Almost certainly diesel. Maybe the top range is telling you what percentage you are into the usable RPM range of the motor?

    gotta be diesel...only goes to 3 grand and a road tractor diesel isn't going to turn that high.
