I recently picked up this piece of custom auto history and was wondering if any of you diehards out there recall seeing this car before. Previous owner has given me some sketchy at best info on the cars background. Here is what I have... It is a 1949 Crosley, it made the cover of a couple rod magazines in the early 60's, it was a feature car or class winner at 1 or more Detroit Autoramas at Cobo Hall in the early 60's, it was also featured a couple of times in Hemmings in the early 60's. I think it was probably blue or green judging the underside of the panels on the car. Any info you can provide me would be appreciated.
Judging by the picture you posted it's the rare "Snowblind" custom. Rumor has it the owner parked it in a white walled parking garage and could never find it again...
1951 built by Arnold Johnson of Reedley California http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Custom_Cars_Trend_Book_No._101 *EDIT* after closer inspection, I don't think that's it
