Technical Can a Malfunctioning Tach cause Ignition issues?

    This may sound like a silly question, and feel free to slap me if it has already been discussed, but is the point cam lubed well enough? Lack of lube would cause it to not hold adjustment, especially if it has a plastic rub block on the points. Also is the wire from the points to the coil in good shape? No breaks under the insulation...
    As stated earlier, it could be a bad coil.

    I have seen a bad tach cause a misfire on two different drag cars so yes it can cause a one.
