Hot Rods Camshaft end play

Is 4 to 8 th the allowable end play for a 52 ford flathead v8, I have more near 22 th what is the repair?

Google Delta Camshaft in (N.West) They can tell you the easiest route, as they do a lot of flathead work.
Friendly over the phone advice, fast service & mailing.
Believe the problem is wear between cam nose and timing plate.
