Sadly this one-off 1964 Mercury Comet Super Cyclone from 1964 Chicago show didn't survive.

Bottom end is assembled heads are ready. It been over 2 months since head gaskets were ordered. I talked to the manufacturer last week. Said about 3 more weeks I’d have them. The times we live in.

  6. The SOHC is definitely off the charts. I really like the idea of that “Falstang “ on that Alston chassis.

Damn man. What a score. Clearly the SOHC is off the charts, but that Fastback Falcoon is super cool. Crazy mashup of the rounded FB upper and the crease and folded Falcon lower, but it's awesome in its own weird way. Love a Ford in a Ford so I'm glad it's going in the A; I can't wait to see what goes in the FastFalcon. Congrats on the incredible finds.

After 3 months of waiting the head gaskets arrived this week. Heads and intake installed. Working on the front now. 4C31C9BE-105F-408C-8B5A-6C58C4D0CB12.jpeg E8618591-AF67-463F-8287-EB4DCAB06EA1.jpeg 4C31C9BE-105F-408C-8B5A-6C58C4D0CB12.jpeg

Small steps this week. Got the Milodon gear drive installed. Drilled through both gears and installed a hardened pin. This is something the factory did not do. This will keep everything in time. E7A02DC7-E201-4D42-9E59-C4030DE9810C.jpeg

It might not be too long before you get to hear the Cammer roar.

I love this project, but I really hate you! HAHA kidding of course. But I would love to hear the story of the conversation you had upon the discovery of this beauty. I am pretty sure most of us on this forum would have completely lost control of bodily functions upon first sighting. And then too there is the issue of coming up with the dough in time before the next guy shows up.

It was hard keeping it together and acting like I didn’t really know what he was talking about. The 3 rd time he said it’s worth a lot of money I had to ask what a lot of money was. You would have to see the place it was in and the guy. It wasn’t cheap but it was a deal.

The old guys who hoarded the stuff are passing. Lots of things I haven't seen for years, if ever coming up for sale

  27. After looking at the pictures of that beauty, it’s really amazing how Ford copied a lot of the design ideas for their later SOHC V8’s.

What's the purpose of that eccentric ring on the idler sprocket?

  29. im all for originality in cars but if i ever got my hands on one of those babies...

  30. in my opinion, this one flows better, like the shirt matches the pants in a way. it looks more early 60s fastback, before the pony cars.
