I managed to roll out of bed early enough yesterday to make the drive down for the July Caffeine & Octane in Marietta. The turnout was great and as always I snapped a couple pics. I did a search and didn't find a photo thread...as a matter of fact I didn't find any coverage of this event at all. So I'm going to post up some of what I took yesterday as well as a few from last months gathering. I'll add a link to my facebook albums at the end of this post if anyone wants to check out the O/T stuff that was there. Hope you guys dig em. This was in a MG.
My 4x4 tucked in there... Link to the rest of yesterdays... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=15622&id=100000682767537&l=53d3fa253a Link to the rest from last month... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=13450&id=100000682767537&l=c2f9cd2c1f It's well worth the drive...if you can roll out early enough. Last month I got there at 8:25 in the a.m. and there were only about three parking spots. The turnout was just a smidge lighter yesterday.
That little cruise-in has gotten HUGE. I remember when there was about 20-30 of us meeting up a few years ago. It's really grown and its a lot of fun. Best part is that its only about 2-3 miles from my house. I was there although the wife wanted to go as well. So, that meant we got there around 9 and after a little searching, I was able to park me and my 66 Barracuda in there. From the pics, I'd say I missed a few cars. But, it was still fun.
I've got no idea what time people start showing up for this one... I know that at 8:30-9:00 some of them are already leaving. Don't know if they're just coming through makin a "pass" or if they've been there long enough that they've had enough. It's over an hour and a half drive for me to get there...and it's worth it!
Outstanding event coverage, great cars and shots, How the hell did you get such vibrant colors ? Man , your tecnique is awsome, Digital or film ? thanks for sharing ,,,,
That lil car with the merged grill shell/hood is interesting. It's not a full scale car....V6 powered as well. I shot all these with about a 3yr old digital point & shoot camera set to auto focus.
The amping up of the color makes them look more like cartoons and less like old cars in my opinion... Great lot of vehicles to see though.
