Guys, I'm having some weird problem my cadillac transmission. It seems it wont stick in gear when at low speeds. if you let up off the gas it goes into gear "sometimes". At highway speeds it works fine. Any ideas

Hydro? Jetaway? I am not really sure what came with that engine but something tells me that Evel may now be an expert in Cad V8 trannys.

Hey Nutz. A little more info from your symptoms might help. Is it popping out of gear, or not ever going into gear; stock or aftermarket carb/linkage; fluid level right on the money? Stuff like that.

I'll dig into my factory book later on after work and see if i can't help you out, i also have a really good diagnostic guide somewhere.

It's not popping out of gear it's just not getting into gear it seems. when you hit the gas it goes slow the more gas you give it the engines revs up ,but will not go to the next gear. Going to check the fluid levels when i get out of work.

Sounds like oil pressure to front clutch is low or the clutch is going fast. Does the engine rev like it is in neutral?

Do you have a 'Park' indicator on the column?

Did you check your fluid level yet?

    First tidbit I dug up:
    Unit Slipping - Speeds Affected
Front Band - First, Third, Reverse
    Rear Band - First, Second
    Front Clutch - Second, Fourth
    Rear Clutch - Third, Fourth
    Reverse Clutch - Reverse

I"ll keep adding what I find...
