Customs * cadillac cruisers *

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Cruiser, Sep 20, 2008.

  1. Okay fellas, I have been seriously on a crazy binge to chop my 51 CDV. Im about to start on the interior, but I have been seeing these really 'BAD' looking early 50's caddy's lately and want to jump into the same pot with them. Simply amazing customs.

Does anyone have any pictures of chops done to early cadillacs? If I do it, I want to retain the stock rear window and roof lines. I have chopped many other cars, but I want to do my homework first and weigh out the pro's and con's before I start anything.

My friend says just finish it since im just about there with the car to get it on the road, Sell it, then get a 'rolling' junker and hack it up....but do I REALLY want to start over?

This is my old 64 Coupe De Ville i just sold to my brother. Metalflake candy blue roof, pinstriped, shaved handles, rear bags and he has just completely rebuilt the 429. I loved cruising in this thing and i have absolutely no chance of ever getting it back according to him!!

I am going to redo the front seat and paint it and go from there. It is my favorite 60's body. I would like to find another home for it.

Thanks for the comment about the LaSalle.

Here is a couple shots of a 47 that I've been tinkering on for a friend in So Cal, needed to be rewired, painless had to go who ever put it in didn't know what they were doing, front cross member was cracked, steering was a disaster, just a lot of little stuff to clean it up.
72 500 under the hood with a 400 behind it and an Olds at the back, who ever hung the 500 in did nice pretty snug fit with the vent boxes still in,older restoration sometime in the late 80's early 90's, currently hanging out in Morro Bay

I just picked up a 68 Caddy covertible, just wondering, if anybody reproduces the woodgrain trim on the dash under the instrument cluster?

Here's a pic of the convertible I just picked up. If anyone's got a few pics of 67 or 68's, I'd love to see some especially with the Caddy wires and wide whites.

Thanks 133, I'll check it out, and you will be happy to know, it's got a 472 Caddy, not a 350 chevy like my 50 Caddy" Nadine".

maybe you stated that in a previous post in this thread. i can't remember shit nowadays. you could notch the read on the '68 to bring it down a bit more. are those older wires on it?

It goes lower...That's actually 72 hubcaps that's been chrome plated the wheels are painted red which kinda shows through the vents in the hubcaps.
