    Hi All,
This is my first post so i hope I am aligned with all forum rules.
I have read extensively on interchange of 331-365-390 parts and conclusion is that it would be no problem putting heads, rockers and intake from a 390 on a 365. But i am not sure about lifters and push rods. Apparently there was a design change in 57, and the conclusion on that is that a 56 can run with 57 lifters as long as 57 push rods are used. this indicates to me that the overall length is the same. and the -57 lifter design continued into -62. Is it correct of me to assume that from -56 to -62 either the earlier or later design of lifters and rods can be used as long as one don't mix early lifters with later rods or vice versa?

Why not put the heads, rockers and intake from a 390 on a 390?

Maybe he has a 365 w/o heads and has a line on 390 heads.

IIRC this has been covered in the past so someone should chime in.

    That is exactly the case.
Bought a 1956 convertible where the previous owner started to tear down the engine and heads were lost. 365 heads are hard to find especially in Sweden, But i was able to get a pair of 390 heads+ intake + rockers. I have the valve covers and original lifters and rods. I think they should work but wanted to verify with the knowledgeable people here...
And as long as i am not going stock original i think i will put an Edelbrock 1406 on top of it all :)

you will need to use 390 push rods. They are a slightly different length.
