you can use a 429/460 ford intake on the big caddy's but i think you have to get a adapter.

Sounds like a win/win situation. With the 500 in the roadster extra new rear tires may become part of the annual budget.:D

  5. A little update.
I do have to teach modern collision repair so the old stuff has been on hold lately.
I use it for recruiting and as fill in work. This is the reason for our slow progress.
A few months ago, a 472 came up on marketplace. I brought the engine to school and forgot about it. We are in the process of having LED lights installed in the shop and rediscovered the engine. The long block was complete but the rest was in boxes. Automotive students assembled the engine and put on their test stand.
The engine came with a bunch of new parts and gaskets. It’s has a points type distributor with a mag pickup. The automotive instructor wired a 4 prong HEI module to it. Fired right up, 40psi oil pressure at idle.
This should make a cool power plant for the roadster. We are up for accreditation so maybe we can get back on it soon.

No bad for less than $100
Hoping the long shaft 400 will fit.

  7. Covid hit us hard at school. Plus we had another OT build that we are wrapping up.
We were shut down 1/2 a year plus a staggered schedule the next year. Only getting 1/2 students each week.
    And that step van project.
I work on these as they fit the curriculum.
Hoping to dig it out of storage next school year.

  9. Above comment.
Took 2 years to get back to normal.
Had a ton of catch up work.
Still in storage. Tried to get another person to fund its finishing (for them) but I guess it’s too wild for most folks taste.
me and our welding instructor have talked about dragging it out of storage.

  11. It’d be nice. Honestly I bit off much more than I could chew at the time. Had a lot of stuff going on.
I’d love to mock it back up soon and get out welding guy that loves to blueprint draw up a chassis.
    Then spec out the material.
    Fingers crossed
