I have 1964 Caddie 429 with the original T400. It is the BOP pattern. Can anyone post any photos of how the dip stick tube fits in the side of the T400. I believe it is the same as Buick/Olds for the same year. My tube is missing.

64-66 Cadillac transmission was all by itself, it's not the same as the BOP transmissions. Good luck finding one...might see if there's a place that specializes in used Cadillac parts?

I was led to believe that because of a fire at the trans plant in 1964 Caddie used Buick T400's with an alloy adaptor. My engine/ trans is from a late '64 Fleetwood and has this alloy adaptor. I'm in New Zealand so not a lot of these caddies here.
    Is my info not correct?
I am after a photo or dipstick/tube, can anyone help?

You could be correct. But the Buick did not us the BOP pattern either, except on the small engines that had the ST300. The 64-66 Buick TH400s were their own case.

  5. I have a 65 caddy case, some internals too.
No problem finding it as it grabs my foot every time I walk by it. No tube though sorry.

On a side note - I had buick 66 401 in Skylark Gs with the 300 Trans- so how did that work ?

beats me...I've only seen the 300 behind the 300-340 type engines.
