I have been presented with a great deal on a low mile rebuild 390 w/C6 tranny out of a late 60's F100. I know the 390 will bolt up and am not worried about that, but what would have to be modified for the C6 to fit? I have heard the trans cross member but do not know what would have to be done to it.

    Any help is appreciated.

You might get lucky, measure the distance on your existing engine and trans from the bellhousing where it bolts to the engine to the center of the trans mount, then do the same on the 390/C6 combo_On my '54 Ford the 5.0 & AOD sit on the stock crossmember and no mods were needed.

I installed a C6 and 351W in my 55 with no modification to the crossmember or floor, outside of drilling holes for the mount.
