Well started working on my steering and managed to make a bracket to mount it out of the way of my flatty and still have a bit of room for headers :) just gonna add some gussets and see how she works. [IMG]

Well the pork n beaner stopped by today to look at my pedal mess and we gotta it sorted out right quick! So now the 29 has operational pedals, and the cross member is in so no more jack stand for me! She's holding it all up by her self now :)

Side note as some of you know I've been on the hunt for some 16" 40 ford wheels... Well unbenounced to me my neighbor Rick had dropped some what he thought were fifteens off turns out they were 16 inch end under my nose the whole time!

Note to self, when hunting for old ford parts that you can’t seem to find for sale in your budget look under your work bench there may be some. Lol

  12. Are those pedals as far back as they look?

Yup. They are pushed way back but he and @porknbeaner looked at it and think they can get enough motion with the first part of the arm horizontal instead of 45 deg so the pedals don’t actually come back near as far as you’d see them in a conventional set up.

Yeah there's probably a better way to do it but I didn't see it so it is what it is

  17. @Austin kays you know you got the disease when you look under the bench and find parts that have magically appeared. I can die in piece now knowing that I have infected at least one other person. ;)

@cactus1 The peddles are actually right at the rear of the toe boards. It seems a little odd for most builds but the flathead is set back into the firewall a couple of inches. A little unorthodox but in a sedan it works real well and gives the kid an edge on the rest of the building world. ;)

Note: I took the Mallory home with me and a couple of lights to be revealed to the world at a later date. Austin is from a Ford family and I just couldn't allow him to be rejected by his kin for having a GM distributer in his stash. :D :D :D

Lmao thanks Benno I don't know what I'd do with out ya and yeah the motor can't go up any further then she is now with out some major modification to the front frame cross member so where she sits now is as far foward as it can go.

Well did some playing around tonight with the firewall I recessed the part of the cow so my oil fill tube can stick through going to have to add a little mandrel Bend or something to bring it up so I can pour oil in it but no big deal[IMG][IMG]

  23. Just cut it a little higher and we'll dig around in my tubing bends for just the right piece. Let me come by before you tank anything all the way out of it. so that we don't end up patching it back together to make everything work.

    Looks good by the way

Played around with a dash idea this weekend I cut the wood out and skinned it in some scrap sheet metal. That with the gauge cluster @porknbeaner made in the 90s doesn't look bad still have to mount it maybe even make it flush with the sheet metal IMG_20180506_205012_209.jpg

  29. Funny that gauge cluster was originally made with a boost meter in mind. It was going into a track T with a boosted banger. Anyway it managed to work out perfect for a flathead Ford with twin temp gauges. I guess that one size does fit all. :D

Flush mount or at least buried a little bit is a good is a by the way, that way your gauge panel isn't just sticking out there 3/8"
