i don't know about tucking them bumbs in, but every thing looks better with the bumper iron's shortened,
We all make spelling errors, give the guy a break. I've seen the rear bumper tucked on a fat fendered car but all he did was shorten the bumper arms and re-drill the holes where they mount to the frame, and as I recall he said they were 3 inches closer to the body but he didn't use the splash shield. HRP

I cut the brackets on my '34 just to get the bumper closer to the body. Don't see why it wouldn't work on a '41-'48.
Let me help. What does the rest of the '41-'48 Ford look like ? If nearly stock, it would be less than pleasing. With most of the normal custom operations performed, it may please you … most of those cars had the bumpers replaced with something else anyway ...
