The new Hot Rod has a Volvo with a bumper with a ribbed middle. Seems like a good idea as JC Whitney used to carry VW bumpers for an absurd price like $30-40 each. I don't recall any like shown except maybe a later model that had a 2" wide top and bottom flange. What years?
You're looking for a 68 and newer VW bumper if you want the flange. The 67 and earlier were daintier like a smooth blade and most used overider bars and guards.
The bumpers on that Volvo are made by Bumpers By Briz. They are extruded aluminum. (Just in case you were wondering). Chris
