    That is a nice accent touch for the chrome rims. The con rod is a good way to handle the larger column.

    A bud came to my shop after visiting Jungle Jim just prior to Jungle's death. He had brought me a burned piston and a nice aluminum con rod out of Jungle's funny car.
    I did some fabrication on the rod, (wish I had a pic!) formed a bracket to hang the column from the cowl bar, fitted it to my '27 Hiboy.
    The rod was sitting on my desk in the office...after some busy conversation with 2 customers, I went in the office...my prized column hanger was gone.

  4. I needed a patch in the lower rear quarter of my 55, but not enough to justify a whole EMS panel, and was not sure where to get scrap metal around me. So I headed to the local Goodwill store and bought the heaviest cooking pan I could find. Turns out it was 18 gage steel and only cost me $2.99.
