I got a 1947 Buick fastback that i put a 1953 263 straight eight in that has a huge crack in it and overheats a lot. I was wondering if i could just get a 322 nail head and throw it in there? I want to keep the original three speed and closed driveshaft. Is the bellhousing the same? does it matter if its a manual transmission?
    Thank you

A V8 stick shift bell housing is different than yours and they arent very plentiful, you will have to search. The same trans was used on the small 264 buick V8 but if you use a 322 take it easy as it wasnt designed for that torq. I think it would fit in the 47 bu otherwise.
