Anyone know of improved brake lining shoes for Buick 12" brakes?

Check with local brake rebuilders and have them relined with the Kevlar lining used on commercial trucks. Kevlar will give you less fade and less drum wear.

  4. Truck shops are great, some have the ability to arc shoes and they can cut big drums easily. Also should be your first stop when you need a front end alignment.

  5. I tried my local brake parts warehouse years ago. they said they were working on a way to press a new lining into the aluminum drum, but were not having much luck. The early buicks had cross-drilled linings, the aluminum was poured into a mold around the liner, filling the drilled holes, then it was chucked in a lathe, & turned. Filling the holes with molten aluminum would insure the lining would stay put. Not real cost effective these days

On what car? If it's a hot rod, and your drums are withing spec, regular replacement lining by Wagner or whom ever you like should be all the brake you need.

  7. Try and find some asbestos lining, stops much better than the non asbestos stuff.
