  1. I woke up out of my coma (2016 heart attack) with a breathing tube in place... not fun and I hurt all over. This is when you realize that you are on the green side of the grass.

  6. Good Tuesday Morning. Teresa here. Bruce is sitting across the room with is feet propped up. This week has been hard on his ankles but he is still here. Robert started thrashing around once last night but the rest of the night went well. They haven't taken the trake out yet. The Dr., wants to do it to day but, wants to talk to us first. It will take place right here in his room, then they will remove his feeding tube and put one in thru his side to his tummy so all the tubes will out of his mouth and he should be so scared and stop struggling. Bruce or I will post later this afternoon. God Bless you all and THANKS. Teresa & Bruce.

  7. Thank you for the updates Mamm. You and Bruce take care and the prayers are still flowing towards you.

Just heard about this, I read through the posts and would like to wish your son a speedy recovery.

Having one of your children hurt or killed has to be the worst things that could ever happen to a parent. I am so sorry that you guys are going through this. It sounds like he is a really tough guy and is going to do his best to recover asap. I hope that today goes well, and that you can talk to him and calm him down.

I have waken up in a recovery room with machines hooked up to me before too. My first thought was to escape! After being held down by six nurses, my mom came in and talked to me. After grasping the situation, everything was fine from there on out. It's the waking up from being normal to being in a hospital bed with things poking you is a real shocker. I totally understand why he is freaking out! Poor guy...

  14. They brought me out of my coma after 4 days. I was in the ICU and had family and friends all around so I missed the company. I recall nothing, not even dreams of those days. I realized where I was once I was awake, hurt all over so I knew I had surgery and survived it. They gave me a hard time about yanking the breathing tube but eventually did.. may have been a couple of hours. AND my hands were tied with MITTENS of all things. That was another thing I wanted off. It was not something I'd want to do again in a hurry and feel for anyone in the same situation.

  15. Bob, they have mittens on Robert also. They tried again to wake up Robert again to day but he still was too wild, so they had to put him under again. The brain surgeon came in this after noon. He said the trashing around was a good sign but might take up to a month for him to wake up and be normal. They didn't put the trak in today. The Dr. talked to us around 4.p.m.They are going to try tomorrow or if he is fully booked it will be Thursday. I may be heading back home by the end of the week but Teresa will be staying here.1 of us will be keep our H.A.M.B. FAMILY posted. Thanks to you all. Bruce & Teresa.

I had a friend once say that we do not pray to change God, we pray to change us. I believe it is both, my prayers continue to be with you and your family.
