You ever consider 49 plymouth bumpers? They are 3 rib not 5 ribs. I bought mine on E BAY for under $100 with shipping. They are chrome plated steel. I cut mine and welded them up for a custom fit. Installed on my 1950 2 door wagon, many compliments.

I like the look on your car. Mine is a mild custom 39 Ford cabriolet pictured here. Did you order the 40 Ford arc or the straight one so it tucks in better. I don’t care for the bumper hanging out too far from the body.

Jack must be bored today to dig up a thread that has been DEAD for 13 years and 8-1/2 months. Damn, I believe he may now hold the record for digging out the longest dead thread.
I did see a Briz bumper on some guys's ride that had been wrecked the other day and the bumper took a pretty good lick and protected the car somewhat. I am not a fan of the aluminum look preferring chrome but I'd run them on a daily drive rod .

I decided to try and make my own, they turned out OK, but I try to keep them away from anything harder, I reckon they would mark easily.

Originals. I bought the first 3 I ever saw for sale 4 years ago. 2 rears and 1 front.. They cleaned up pretty good. Scan0785.jpg Scan0656.jpg

I have had one (bumperless in front) on my coupe since they first came out. I love the look, but it is VERY soft and marks and scratches really easy, It's also a pain to keep shiney, as it tarnishes quickly.
