Dang I usually sleep during the busy part of the car show on Saturday afternoon.. now what am I going to do? That's an awesome lineup.
"geeze loueeze, Dick Dale must be 100 years old by now. saw him 20 years ago and he was old then." and he'll still play Guitar bettern' anybody up there.
Heading out 4/13/16 for VLV16, hope to meet a few more members this year too! Thanks Tom, it's a great time.
Gotta give dick massive respect for still touring, did you know why though?? http://www.cracked.com/blog/5-where-are-they-now-stories-that-sound-completely-made-up/
He's playing at the car show, which is outside, of course, so if you're determined to hear him, you can stand outside the fence and listen, but single day tickets to the car show are relatively cheap: like 20 or 30 bucks. I'm bummed that I can't go, because I love Setzer's music, and another of my favorite bands is playing, coming all the way from Sweden for VLV. Give a listen to Emmy Lou and the Rhythm Boys: God, I love her voice! You can't hear them from outside, though. I think the only way you can hear the bands in the ballrooms inside is to buy a "high roller" ticket, which gets you into everything. It's a bit over $100 for the high roller tickets, and they get you into more stuff than you possibly take in. I'm a particular fan of the pool parties, where the music is good, and chicks (and even a few blokes) are dressed in vintage swimwear. If you're into tattoos, the whole place, pool parties, car show, and just the casino in general are full of more cool tattoos than you'll see anywhere.
