You guys have seen photos of Brenda's '54 Ranch Wagon, from the day I drug it out of barn but you guys have never seen her daily driver. This is her Magnum Wagon, this photo was taken at the Barnwood Cafe early morning cruise-in. HRP
Magnum wagons are cool, i wanted one when they were current but they were pricey compared to the monte carlo we bought instead
This is Brenda's second one, the first one was a SRT8S that unfortunately Melissa, one of the twins hit a deer on I-85 about 4 years ago, the car was a total loss. Since Brenda uses the wagon for daily transportation and deliveries for her flower shop a replacement had to be found pronto. I couldn't find another magnum like what we had, the 2008 SRT8 was a extremely rare car when new, there were only 239 made, incidentally Brenda likes this one with the exception of it's lack of power! It does get much better gas mileage. HRP
We have a 2005 Magnum RT. It only has 11,000 miles on it. My wife wanted one when they were new but we couldn't afford one at the time. In 2014 when were we looking for a "new" car for her this one surfaced with only 5000 miles on it at the time. Like all of our special cars, we really ought to drive it more, but never have the time.
My ex boss bought a hellcat a couple yrs back. With the 6 speed manual and the button to turn off the computer controlled traction its a lot of fun. He was in the middle of building a 70' challenger with a complete 66' hemi and 4 speed setup and was driving a srt8 at the time. Our local dealer got a Hellcat and he went and looked at it, test drove it and said "hell with it", sold off his project car and drivertrain and shopped for a 6-speed manual Hellcat and finally found one. I asked if he regretted selling the challenger, he said nope because he'd probably have more in the project than he did in the Hellcat. He said the Hellcat had power windows,a/c, manual trans, 0 miles, 800hp AND a warranty!! Couldn't argue with that... ...
Those are sweet!! Hopefully, they'll survive ok, there are plans out there to convert them into pickups!
I have a 05 red RT that I shopped the country for 10 years ago and found one here in Wisconsin. It was a hobby car only, never in bad weather and sadly for the owner a bitter divorce forced the sale. I paid up for it (mint car) as being a Wisconsin guy I hate rust, through my lifetime of daily drivers many good vehicles have been eaten up by the salt deal, now we spray the roads with brine to rust everything faster. All winter the salt trucks are out, you can drive in heavy salt dust, it's way overdone IMO. End of my salt rant. The Magnums are great wagons and the 5.7 Hemi is outstanding.
Wrench everyday on youtube has done the conversion on a Charger. Neat deal. Always liked the Magnum wagons, but like the 300 nose conversion even better. I just don't like headlights facing up. They actually did this for some exports to England, Chrysler 300 Estates (station wagons here).
I don't have one, so I hope they don't go up too crazy, but if you want to see rare ones www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCZpNnAcdHk Also, junkyard dave has been building one for years. He changed midstream and did a Trackhawk AWD, but it's again close. Hand laid CF roof, custom tubular front and rear subframes, etc. Khal_SRT has been doing some very late model stuff if the drivetrains are what you want to focus on. Even he's amazed at some of the interchangeability.
