Brake wheel cylinder plungers

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by tcoupekyle, Jan 16, 2012.

  1. so I was rebuilding the brakes on the model t and it has a1964 ford front axle and brakes I was missing the plungers that go into the wheel cylinder to the shoes, I couldn't find them at any parts houses so I took some out of a 52 chevy..... will this work I couldn't really tell with out being able to actually actuate the cylinders (lines arent plumbed yet)

any help or experience in this department greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

they're called "links", and they are hard to find. I think the only new ones I've seen are the ones for that chevy you took them out of.

As long as they're the right length, and slot size so they fit over the shoe web, they should work fine.

  3. Agree the ones you "borrowed" should work fine as long as they are the right length. You do not want to have the chance of the piston in the wheel cyl being able to pop out the end.
