  5. Thanks Guys. Nick, I really like yours as well. Makes me wish I went with a Hallock type windshield.

  7. In the days of old Ox Blood was the color of choice. Or White.

  8. @Fuzzy Knight: I am trying to keep that 'days of old" vibe. I hope that I can pull it off. So far, It has been coming together as I envisioned.

I was thinking white with black in lay and piping, but I think maroon would have a better vibe...

  14. The '29 went on her maiden voyage around my neighborhood this weekend. I think that I got my brakes all sorted out...after replacing the master cylinder and the booster she finally will stop. Took the opportunity to take some pictures some place else other that the front of my garage...now I am in the front of my house.

  18. Hey Tommy,
The stanchions are vintage aftermarket for a 28/29 model a roadster, phaeton, or roadster pick-up.

  22. I bought them here form another hamb member. His name was Chris. There is a member here on the hamb that sells reproduction aluminum ones. If you do a search for 28/29 folding windshield stanchions I am sure his ad will come up. I believe they are chopped too.

If that is a cast superbell axle I would be a little concerned that it is drilled. There have been some reported failures. Just a word of caution.

  26. Thanks Flat-Foot

  27. Thanks 32ford5!

  28. Thanks 1gearhead for the word of caution. It is a superbell axle and I too have read about some of the issues with superbell axles. However, I have also read about others that have had no problems.

You hit a home run with what was one of the better High-boy combos of the Dry Lakes period, at least to me; and if I've read the comments right, to a passel of others. If I were able to whisper a little advice in your ear, I'd say go with black upholstery --- leather, with rolls an' pleats. Colors can be contrasting as in maroon/oxblood, or complimentary as in black on black. I guess I'm a Goth at heart; when you're that close, go whole hog. Just get Dennis Rikfels to lay you a couple of nice stripes on the belt-line, and practice your possum grin in the mirror.:D

  30. Thanks fortynut, that was the look I was going for...Highboy/dry lakes. It has been very tough to decide on upholstery colors. I have gone back and forth between black and maroon. I keep coming back to maroon and yes it will have pleats. Stay tuned, the upholstery has already begun.
