back in the mid to late 80's his shop did all kinds of cool stuff.... from the high tech hot rods to 63 z11 chevys.... the stuff he did for jamie musselman (sp) was neat stuff... seems like there was a b400 in that group.... and kolomo's tub phaeton .... in its day ....they were cool rides... brandon :D

Wow I am in shock like many others I didnt even know he was ill but I was wondering why the show hadnt been on for a while.........not my style of cars ,for the most part , but he certainly had a huge impact on the hobby as a whole. RIP Boyd say hi to Roy for me!!!

  4. Can we just stop with the "style" comments? Boyd Coddington made a huge impact on the hot rodding hobby and the industry it has become. There are lot's of "right" ways to build a car.

    Again, Respect.

  5. Boyd was a builder no different than any of us. He may have had a different way to do it but he was a builder!

His building legacy will live on through Hot Roding for years to come.
Wether or not you like or liked him he will be missed.

Well put and should have been said.
The fact is he was a fellow Rodder and has been taken from us. That in itself no matter who it is deserves respect.

    I'm still can't believe it...such a loss..

Not exactly an early build, but I allways liked the Alumatruck as well.

Sixty three; same age as me. Gives one pause about the people in our lives and using our time wisely. Building cars and driving your grand kids around is a wise use of time.

    Condolences to family and friends......slide

This is terribly sad.Mr Coddington was truly a hot rod visionary..none of his "over the top" vehicles would have ever gotten built by just craftsmanship alone! My condolences go out to his family and associates.

I remember hearing that when they sold the Alumatruck, they lost some serious cash, compared to what it cost to build.

While I agree in "sticking together" to keep our general hobby alive, it's a bit daft to say he was "no different than any of us". He was, as Paul stated, QUITE different.

Boyd was a street rodder, and one that deserves the respect that he earned by doing what he did best.... designing cars.

  29. RIP Boyd. I'll always remember the night at the bar in Philly.....

My condolences to his family and employees.
