Brought this 61 home on halloween day '14. My dad wanted to go look at the car for himself and decided he already had enough going on with his 40 convert so I ended up buying it instead. funny how that works!

Anyways, thought i'd post a few pics of the project over the past 1.5 years. This was the first car i've painted myself so it was a huge learning experience for me. Fortunately, i had some local bodywork/painting experts that were willing to give me some valuable pointers along the way.

Car was originally 283/PG. It’s now a 331 with Canfield alum heads big Lunati roller cam and a muncie 4 spd trans. I kinda wanted that plain jane sleeper look so factory white paint with black steel wheels n drag radials it is! Sullivan upholstery did a great job on the interior.

I'll try to load some pics..

    Car looks really good,
and it sits perfect. I'll bet it runs pretty good too, what gear ratio are you running?

I had a turquoise exterior/turquoise interior '61 bubble top when I was in college 40 years ago. Loved that car, never should have sold it.

Hail the bubble! Damn nice job! What did you use for a shifter/boot? Impala Bob's? Kinda hard to see in the one front interior shot.

  24. I've had a half dozen or so over the years - all two door hard tops - Impalas and Belairs and the last was a Belair two door post. Been on the top om y list for about 50 years.

    Ya did a great job!

That's beautiful! When I was driving a '63 BelAir 4-door as a daily driver, I wanted a white hardtop with color accent stripe. Still do.
