Hi guys, I wanted to share my latest build with you. I just finished a two year restoration on this truck. It's got dual pipes so it's not o/t. Here is the great story that go's with it. The owner bought it in 1950 to use as a daily on his orange grove here in Hemet, Ca. He used it unitl the late 60's. His kids (four of them) all drove it to high school until the mid 70's. The same high school I went to in the 80's. In 1980 they decided to restore the truck and one son and the owner and took it all apart. They carefully bagged and tagged everything. They worked on it for about a year but were overwhelmed with the size of the job and it sat until I got the call to step in. I have to add that I have known these guys since I was a kid. There wind machines were a good source for my flatheads. We have also been talking for about ten years about finishing the truck. When I got the call to step in it was in late 2008. It took 17 truck loads to get all the parts to my shop! I used all the original bolts and parts when I could. The engine, trans., all of the drivetrain and suspension are original to the truck. The owner and his family are very happy to see and drive their old truck. The truck is willed to the one son who helped start the restoration and his son is already asking about if he can drive it to high school too! The answer was NO.
