If you do a search Wally you'll find several threads on things to do besides race. Also visit landracing .com. Lots of info there.

Make sure that you go down to the airfield where they 'housed' the Enola Gay.

For food @ Bonneville, make sure that you have "Trino's tacos" inside the Stateline casino......they are cheap & REAL GOOD!!

Also, make sure that you just pack a couple of t-shirts, you will buy a BUNCH while there & just wash & wear them. If you renting a 'rental' car, be careful & make sure you CLEAN it before returning it. If you do rent a car, pack a roll of duct tape & go to a Wal-mart & buy the cheapest/largest bath towels that you can find and duct tape the towels to the floorboard of the car to catch the salt. If you driving a 'off-topic' car from your hometown that is one of the best tips that I can give you for keeping salt out of your floorboards.

  6. Check out the Salt Flats Speed Shop in Oreum (sp) and make the party for the Rolling Bones Boys from NY. It is a good one for sure. You can go to Salt Flats Speed Shop.com and get the info.

  8. Can't beat the Shrimp dinner at the truck stop just before the Flats. Marcello and his boys go way over board for us racers. (try a "tall glass of apple juice" also! Best juice in town!
