We've had a couple storms come through, just got a pretty wet one this evening. Not sure how much passed over the salt. The clouds coming out of the west were really dark.

Thanks for the salt update @-Brent- Anybody else in the area know what the salt is doing? No SCTA update since June...

Great shot, I don't care, I'd give my left nut to be there. Damn border is closed, us canucks are watching from afar.....

  12. Well, I am not real pissed yet, got a little sick to my stomach feeling but our genius folks at our corporate HQ just threw a curveball. Looks like I am staycationing and listening to the online stream with our foreign friends.

    UPDATE #2 (8/1/21):

Course #1 (Long Course) is fully groomed to the 8-mile and beyond the 8-mile is dry & firm for miles. Course #2 (Combo Course) is groomed to the 7-mile and beyond the 7-mile is a little bit rough but firm. Pits are being setup and work will begin on Course #3 (Rookie Course), Turnouts are being put in and Return Roads tomorrow morning.

We are right on schedule and all courses will be ready to go. No matter what you have heard, there has been weather in the area, but the courses are still pristine.

    UPDATE #3 (8/2/21):

We have been surrounded by terrible weather for several days, but somehow Mother Nature has shined on us! We got a little rain yesterday, but thanks to Mother Nature, it did not affect the Salt one bit! All 3 courses have amazing Salt! Still the best in many, many years! The forecast is for sunny skies!

We made a ton of progress today. The pits are coming together. We also picked up a ton of trash that had been left behind by other folks. A special thanks to our volunteers for that!

As for progress on the courses: Course #1 is all dressed up! Completely groomed, mile markers are in, turn outs are done, the return road is in. Courses #2 & #3 are also groomed & signs, turn outs, return roads are all in progress. Surveying will be completed in the morning.

Things are really taking shape. About the only the only thing missing is you! Pack all the fast stuff & we'll see ya soon!

  16. Thanks for the updates. Border hoops prevent us from attending, so I'll be listening in again. Great garage background music!

  22. Stolen from landracing.com, posted by a Colorado local. Looks like I80 through Wyoming is the best route.

    I70 CLOSURE

Mudslides have closed I-70 a few times this year already.

The I-70 detour route (thru Craig, CO) isn't any fun, all of the big trucks are being routed that way.

They have also had to close some of the alternate routes thru the mountains this summer due to mudslides, flooding, ect..
    Hwy. 133 , Hwy 141 ,
AND Hwy. 50 has DAILY closures between Gunnison and Montrose due to construction.

Expect delays and detours if you are planning on crossing the Rockies in Colorado.

If it were me... I would avoid the hassle all together and take I-80 through Wyoming.

  23. There will also be live video of the starting line thanks to Ron Main for Sat, Sun, Mon. Link will also be over on landracing

I have a friend going with this car... which has a funny looking motor with ARDUN on it. I'm sworn to secrecy on the rest of the details.

The bones crew and everyone I’ve seen is either taking 80 or ran 70 earlier in the week before the mud slide. Might making come back interesting it sounds like.

@Tim is that Ben's original coupe that Flop chopped and then eventually wrecked? Am I remembering that correctly? If so, so glad to see it back.
