Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear this, but glad he's okay.
Excellent driver containment. The driver compartment looks like it is untouched. So sorry to see this happen, especially since they seem to have really gotten a handle on running the car with consistency.
That really sucks.
As long as Bob is unhurt, another car can be built.
Yeah. It is to soon to know what is next. There are years and I have no idea how much money in Flashpoint.
Unfortunately this is part of racing. Over the years we have had some big crashes and some of my guys didn't come back. As long as he can stand there for a pic minutes after the crash it's still a good day.
Just like flying,, any landing you walk away from is a good landing,,,
Shows how good the safety requirements of SCTA help save lives
RichFox, He had a tire problem at speed week didn't he? Tires have always been a week point in racing. The heat and forces put on them makes the life of the tire very unpredictable. We had some tires come apart on a couple of the fuel cars I worked on, but the worst was when we had a rear tire come apart at 220 + on a fuel bike. From the starting line it looked like a bomb went off. Just held my breath until we got down to the other end so see what was left of him.
Yes he cut a tire at SpeedWeek
Oh No, sorry to see that, Bob looks OK in the picture and that is the important thing.
I was impressed by the car and crew from the moment we first had a look at it.
May 2017 ElMirage runs really looked good and Speedweek showed potential.
I am sure Bob will be back and whatever he brings will be impressive. J
