The race is on.
Baring any further rain storms (forecast is clear) World of Speed will start Thursday. Pits will open for set up Thursday morning at 8:00 AM, drivers meeting at 9:00 AM and racing will follow.

Besides a little "salt"water never hurt anyone... Remember a couple years ago?

 

I was driving thru on thursday, and stopped and watched. I didnt have a zoom lens, so I had to wait till they drove by. We got there about 1pm and they ran till 4:30 or so.

In 36 hours I went from cooking the hot dogs and burgers at the Outriders meeting to my place 1/2 way around the world! I need some sleep

 

Now that's a trip!

Today on the salt. Top Oil Top Speed Shoot Out Poteet and Main Speed Demon Mile speed 435.685 MPH Kilo 436.067 MPH. 299 cubic inch Turbo SBC i think.

 

Heard they blew up the motor....

 

I think they tourched a head.

 

436 with 300 inches and two wheel drive? It must be a big blower. If some is good, More is better, And too much is just right.

 

Rich: Do you know if they found out what was causing the axles to break ?

Speed Demon bent a rod in the 4 cylinder motor. Snowmobile converted into a "Saltmobile" went 209 one way for a two way record over 200 and membership into the 200 mile per hour club
