Best pics of the year... No Doubt!

But where's the rest of this shot? Seems like there was more to be seen in this picture.

Man did you do a good job, great coverage.....the grey primmered rear engine 34 is a new car built by Ron Atteburry known for building more winning dragster frames than almost any one he and his partner Chet Thomas will be in the record books as soon as they get some seat time to work out the bugs...........:D

    Justin,

Great photos! How'd it feel to sit back and watch this year?

I sent your HAMB link of Bonneville photos to Chuck Hersom. He and his brother Eugene ran their 4-banger belly tank at the inaugural SCTA Bonneville meet back in 1949. They ran against the SoCal Speed Shop belly tank back 60 years ago.

He'll get a kick out of all your photos.

    Thanks for posting!

  7. Justin B ... Excellent coverage! ... thanks for posting all these pics.

    FYI ... That's the (Ron) Atterbury, (Matt) Dowd, & (Chet) Thomas #7500 "C" (306ci thru 372ci) / Gas Rear-engined Modified Roadster (C/GRMR) ... nicknamed "Salty".

This is the first year on the salt for the car ... more pics & info can be found by clicking HERE.

    EDIT:

plywude ... you beat me to it ... I guess I type too slow!

Definitly one of the best coverages of Bonneville. Just makes me want to go even more. Thanks for taking the time to share.

Thanks for all the race car photos. Spectator shots were great too. This sure beats waiting for Hot Rod to come out, like we did as kids.

    Love this one.
I'd like to see more stuff like this out there. Not for the patina factor (though it's cool), but just because it's a very basic, stock bodied rod that's not 'the ideal LSR shape' that someone put together just to go have fun on the salt- record or no record. I think that's a real throwback to the early days and that's what I hope to do eventually.
And, I bet he'll be driving it around on the street again when he gets home.

scotty it's amazing what some of the cars get trailered out there on, pete's old single axle is pretty good comparitevly. dan flat towed that 32 out there up to just a few years back when he got a single axle trailer as well. a few years back when dave brought out the beatty tank it was pretty funny thinking about a car that would sell for over 400k getting trailered across the country on a beat up open trailer.

hi ed, i didn't know you were on here, going to encinitas next week?
