Last September on 80 west my speedo registered 75 and the big Packard blew past me and the exhaust note sounded just off idle.
    Cool experience.

I will be there wrenching on the Hot Rod Hoodlums # 1429 Rear-engine Modified Roadster (engine size TBA). Hard to miss the faded dayglo and silver car that doesn't look like everyone else's. Stop by and say hi in the pits or in the line. I'm the old fart that looks like he knows what he's doing (the other one, who really DOES know, is our engine builder, Keith Dorton). vic

  7. Lovde to see Bob again and meet you for the first time. My car will not be done so good luck on chasing the Hudson Boys record!

Really looking forward to Speed Week.
Roadster is far enough along now that it will actually make the trip this year.

Hope to see/meet a bunch of you there!

Got my $1,000.00 already set aside to pay the room ransom:eek:.

Pretty excited about seeing a couple of friends running for the first time...

  16. If there is to be a Friday night BBQ, I need some help and commitments. We/Vagabonds do the feed at Mokan but there is a large group there every year. There might only be myself and General Gow, and McTim, my newest honorary Vagabond from the wrong State ;). BTW, Mark, bring Tims $40 bucks...........

IF, I say IF there is enough interest, I will fill a cooler with brats when I head West. I know ther are lots of happenings in the evenings. We do not have to do this. It is up to yoose,. I enjoy entertaining and cooking for the masses.

I think I might try to go... maybe. ;)

  18. Nate, this BBQ thing might be our chance for our Save the Salt Fundraiser, easier than walking the pits!?

    1. I can commit to hanging out and helping once I know whether we'll be there 100%. I am at about 90% right now.

    2. The idea for using it as an opportunity to raise funds is great.

    3. I sent Tim his dough via Paypal this morning. But I think I owe him a nice beer or two for forgetting about it til now...

Good idea Tman. I always try to help the cause , that would be a great place to raise some funds...

  25. In reference to my note to Beef Stew. We hatched a plan a few months back to walk the pits and pass the hat for Save the Salt. Since he and I will both be VERY busy it might be easier to do it as mentioned at a get together. I would love to hand a wad of cash over to StS during the weekend!

Count me in on adding to the donation.

  27. Hell, I am counting on you to help put this thing on!

If brats seem like to much work, maybe Ice Cream? BYOB chasers?

Ran 197 last year on the short course. Too damned close to 200 to not go back this year.
