bolt pattern for a shoebox ford

    What is the bolt pattern for the 49 to 51 ford shoebox
    ANYONE??

    Car? It should be 5 on 4.5".
     
  4. yes, car is 4-1/2" bolt circle...1/2 ton pickup is 5-1/2"


    when i read shoebox..i assume they mean car

    Stick to your GMCs Bubba.

    Shoeboxes are cars and starting in 1949 Ford cars used the 5 on 4 1/2" circle wheel bolt pattern. Over the years this pattern continued except on certain years of Station Wagons and Rancheros which had a 5 on 5" circle bolt pattern.

    You would have been correct if he had asked about Ford Pickups.

    The Ford 5 on 5 1/2" circle bolt pattern was used on cars from 1926(wire wheels only) through 1948 and pickups from 1926 (wire wheels only) to today.

    Never seen a ranchero or wagon with a 5" b/c. I thought they were all 4.5" up into the 70's.
