yes, car is 4-1/2" bolt circle...1/2 ton pickup is 5-1/2" when i read shoebox..i assume they mean car
Stick to your GMCs Bubba. Shoeboxes are cars and starting in 1949 Ford cars used the 5 on 4 1/2" circle wheel bolt pattern. Over the years this pattern continued except on certain years of Station Wagons and Rancheros which had a 5 on 5" circle bolt pattern. You would have been correct if he had asked about Ford Pickups. The Ford 5 on 5 1/2" circle bolt pattern was used on cars from 1926(wire wheels only) through 1948 and pickups from 1926 (wire wheels only) to today.
From about 1973 to 1978/1979 full size Ford/Lincoln/Mercury had a 5 on 5" wheel. On the following chart it is listed as a 5x127mm. (127mm = 5") http://www.willysoffroadsupply.com/Wheel_Spacer_Chart.html?sid=f816d06972c62f3471cd1bdd3169e9b0
