Body Mount Rubber

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by LIFESTYLZ, Dec 29, 2009.

  1. What are people using for body mount rubber.
It's not alway easy or possible to use original ones
due to being not available etc.
I have totally changed all crossmembers, so old
    mounts wouldn't work anyway..

    Cheers

    Clive :)

For thin ones (1/8 in) use stink vent roof seal rubber cut to size works great & cheap

I did the sidewall of a tire trick here too for bed mounts....worked a treat!

  5. if you have changed most of your x-members you could use just about any production vehicle sitting in the salvage yard. time to start crawling under things and looking.

Semi Truck mud flaps. Cut them up to what ever size you need. Can be bought new for peanuts. I dont think you will find a more durable rubber for pennies on the dollar.

i have used hokey pucks with a hole drilled in them or i have used ones from ford rangers because they have a washer to help compress them and even them out when tighting down. i have also used energysuspension parts i like their stuff. it all depends on how mutch you want to spend and whose project your working on. just my 2 cents.
