I think they will ship some stuff? I’d have to look at the website but I’ve heard it talked about earlier
This is a reminder that I won't see Bob this summer. The people that I see once a year have become very special.
....41rodderz , your a good man !....I'm sure his family will appreciate any help you were to provide.....also I like your avatar, is that your vintage racer and do you still own it ?.....( I love vintage circle track cars!)
A group of us here in Fairbanks,Alaska spent a very delightful ,unforgettable evening with Bob and Maggie .
We all need to help when we can . The avatar was one of the race cars my Dad built for his boss. Dad had a twin late model , and a 1937 Chevy coupe modified. They raced three nights a week. They had three late models plus a fourth back up . All up to Dad to build and maintain. Good times as a kid. I hope to build a replica of Dad's '37 modified in the future.
This is what will happen when I die. None of my kids are interested. It's sad to see a man's lifelong collection parted out. I get it, but it makes me sad to see. Hope Maggie is doing well.
Along with manyolcars I have manyolparts and my kids are like roothawgs. I told them they can get lots of money and they say they don't want to fool with it. I am thinking about giving the real estate. House, shop and everything to a young guy here who likes old cars and here I am, bidding on Bob's parts
My first two thoughts were that this is an all around a sad thing. Then I realized that he and I collect a few things that are very similar .
I'm probably in the same boat. Outside of dividing up a few items that are special to them my kids will probably sell off my stuff at a yard sale. Going though the 30 pages of Bob's stuff it is interesting that there is probably a lot about the man that few of us knew like his affinity for Indy cars and it appears that at one time at least he was into Corvettes. If you don't go though all 30 pages just to be going through them you miss a lot and miss some of the missing links in the Bob K story as the items do tell a story. There is also some nifty artwork in there by one or two of our own that needs a new keeper
at Yep, I even looked over on the shelf my similar item a time or two. There is the chance for someone within driving distance to fill out or build a Rodders Journal collection too.
Yeah, it’s a weird feeling. Mostly a fucking bummer. Yup had more than one cool Vette. Miss that guy :/
Yes, it's sad. The upside is that others have a chance to share in his passion rather than the relatives throwing his stuff in a garbage bin or dumpster.
