Thought I'd share a Toy, that gets a small amount of time, but I love dearly. Skyland Ford in Denver, did a limited number of Bob Jones Specials, and this is one of them. DSCN0514.JPG DSCN0514.JPG DSCN0516.JPG DSCN0517.JPG

So that is an original pickup with dealer installed options (louver, flames, rolls and pleats) by a guy in the shop named Bob Jones?

From my understanding, Bob worked for Skyland, or Owned it, not sure. But he took certain Fords, and added louvers, flames, dropped front axle, on the trucks, interior, a 312 dressed T bird engine, and the spot light. also custom exhaust. They used local shops for a lot of the work, Kens and Leslie, Englewood Auto interior. I have found a few other with this package, too.

Also, these flames were from a repaint, before I bought the truck.

Google would differ with you, but in any case it was a long time gone by the time that I lived in Denver.

Nice truck and a nice piece of history!

I am a Denver native, born in 45. It was Skyland Ford, located on north Broadway, owned by Bob Jones. He did a lot of special edition vehicles, including T birds. If you google Bob Jones Skyland Ford you will find more info.

OK something like Nikky Chevrolet here in Chicago in the 60's. Interesting.

Bob Jones Enterprises-Skyland Ford didn’t make it past 1961....FoMoCo Credit took them to court for payments past due.....Because the dealership was defunct , it wasn’t named in the lawsuit.
Looks like they did some kool vehicles though!!!!!

If that's right, I stand corrected. I was born in 65, and only got the story. I do have a 1956 Hot Rod Magazine, I will review, the story, they did...

A few friends, found a 58 Ranchero, Special. They didn't make a move on it, though.

Bob Jones Skyland Ford also sponsored the 777 Kenz & Leslie flathead powered Bonneville streamliner that held the top speed at the Bonneville Nationals in the mid 50's. It was driven by Willie Young, a friend of mine.

I remember there being another 56 running around in the 80's from Nebraska that had a "skyland" hood on it. I believe they were a 4" louver, so they were more distinct then others done at the time. The guy who owned it was related to Dewight Bond from Gibbon fiberglass.

Friend here in Denver has a Bob Jones T bird. Louvers in the hood and fender skirts. They had a funky paint/stripe job on them originally but his is a few repaints in.
