    Hello,

Having two or more auto repair/body work shops near this location might lead one to see that the Blue truck may have just come out of the last phases of the process. It looks like it still needs door handles and locks.

But, from far away, it is/was a cool truck with a nice color that was not White, Grey or Black. The most popular colors usually seen on the street in this area.

I looked for more evidence of prep removal and found none. So, with the last of the finishing jobs, it will be on the road, soon.

It is a nice Blue color (not a stock Ford color) and looks as if it is ready for a longer life on the road.

That's what I'm looking for, dark blue with a lighter blue metallic.

Can you give feedback if there's any red or purple tones in it ? I'm looking for a straight blue - no purplish tints.

1958 Cadillac Series 62 Coupe DeVille

    Hello,

After taking this super quick photo as I drove by this working shop, I could not stop for more photos. So, about a week later, I had some business near the old location and tried to go back for more cool photos of a blue Cadillac. But, to my dismay, the custom painted Blue Cadillac was gone.

So Cal is a big area and this coastal area does have a ton of cool old cruisers and hot rods used as the sun comes out, again. February starts the road to the spring season and it will start to get sunny consistently again. So, all is not lost.

One thing my wife and I have seen are more old cars and hot rods. They are on the roads where we usually go for a drive or a relaxing spot to see life in a different way than what the pandemic provides. It used to be a hot rod or two, in two to three weeks of on/off local drives. But, now, we are seeing more with every day we are on the roads for a relaxing day on the coastal drives. YRMV

The “warmth of sun…” brings them out of the woodworks… So, there still is hope to see it on the road nearby, soon.

Although the meaning is different in the actual lyrics, this portion rings true:

    What good is the dawn
    That grows into day
    The sunset at night
    Or living this way

My love’s like the warmth of the sun,

    (Warmth of The Sun)

    It won’t ever die.

    (It won’t ever die)

    Hello,

Well, it was once a nice blue color. But in living along the salt air infused climate, one takes chances with something left outside to “weather.” This truck is active on the streets and has been seen more than once, driving around in the salt infused coastal climate, so it does get driven.

Perhaps, the owner is preserving the door logo for posterity.

My favorite blue is the color of Elizabeth Taylor’s eyes. It was mixed specially for her 1956 Continental. I almost hate to give away this secret, but it was reproduced for a 2013 Lincoln. 53DF2214-C3D7-4DFB-A9C6-7B7668CD55E5.jpeg

I’ve used Indigo Blue metallic on a couple projects. Everybody said it looked great. I don’t think there is any purple tone there.

@Deuces -It's based off a picture of a mid 2000's Viper Gtx-R, I don't know if it was a factory color or not.

  23. OK color me dumb. Which is close to being colored blue.

Any idea why it is called "Safety Blue"? I am just too curious not to ask.
