I'm putting together my motor for
My next hotrod, the car will be a fenderless 33 3 window. My question is this, 2 strombergs or an afb? ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1428548537.973498.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1428548593.841008.jpg

It would breath easier with the AFB, but the Strombergs look much cooler. Since you're not lookin for max power anyway, go with the Strombergs....and if you're lucky they'll leak all over your blower to give it that nice gas stained hotrod patina. :D

I'm thinking the strombergs will be plenty of carb. For it. I'm only running about 3 lbs of boost. I'm really leaning towers the strombergs, but I have had reall good luck with afb carbs on my blower motors.

  7. I like the Rover/SU idea- would go nicely with the 215 :)

The blower is an old magnacharger I picked up at a swap meet.

I finally found an early magnacharger M220, its a pair of 110's like you have. Most of his intakes were torquers, Milled parallel to the crankshaft, but I like your wedge.. good luck with the 215.

Don't know, Mine are 50mm's but have a friend with the versions that has a pair of 600 Holley Dbl pumpers and it is stock bore, with World product heads and good cam. 389 RWH in 31 model A, I'll try to find a picture tomorrow showing the engine (you can just see part of the left manifold and carb) IMG_4417.JPG

The Oldsmobile Jetfires with the turbo 215 came with a single side-draft Rochester type R or RC, both were used, with lots of controls for the blower, alcohol injection, etc.

If I didn't know better, I would have guessed all of the controls were made by Lucas ;) (they were not, but you get the picture).

Olds finally offered a recall to those totally unhappy with the blower. The recall consisted of removing the blower and replacing it with a single Rochester 4-GC of approximately 375 CFM.

Your project sounds like a lot of enjoyment.

    Jon.
