I quite like it, it's very custom. My only real gripe with it is the positioning of the rear quarter bumpout and the position of the wheel inside it. And a carefully shaped fender skirt could cure those ills. Otherwise, I'd say it's pretty nice.

It is a good thing that it is being saved. Aren't we in this because we have personalized cars?

  9. Take the hump out of the grille shell in the side view and it would look great. I'd drive it.

Other than the easily recognized '49 Buick taillights and rear fenders, what else do you think was used in creating this custom. I've got an idea what body they started with. What say you.

  17. The link above describes the body sources:
"In 1952, a new V8 Studebaker Commander that suffered a rollover, became the donor chassis and drivetrain for the project. A sectioned 1938 Graham Sharknose model 97 coupe was mated to the chassis. Next, a 1938 Lincoln K model front end was grafted on, with 1941 Packard 180 Lebaron side mount covers set into the fenders. Last, is the addition of the rear quarter sections and bumper, from a 1949 Buick Super Sedanette."

I didn't click the link. That spoiled all my fun searching for the parts. Yea, Graham body.

Looking at the side view pic of the Graham, I can see why customizing was needed. Not a pretty shape.

My uncle built these in the Philippines in the 60’s, (posted here on other threads) 2D88B136-6F0B-4751-A98A-70EEFF54DC4B.jpeg
