I went to "cool desert nights" instead of billetproof yesterday. Should have went to billetproof! Bunch of street rod junk, a couple rats, and 1 or 2 cars that were Trads...

It's actually a light mint greenish. I agree, it's a awesome car though.

Oh there were plenty of rat rods, maybe more than last year. No need to take pics of 'em though. Plenty of disgusting fabrication and some scary looking drag links that I took pics of purely for hackneyed comedic value. There was a POS with seats made out of oil barrels and some guy extended his drag link by welding in s**t like a 3/8 socket extension. There were more than enough really nice cars to make up for it though.

The one that took the cake I thought was the sedan thing in the front dirt parking lot. It was basically a body made of purely flat sheet metal. Kinda almost looked like they tried to make a C cab lookin side or something. Dude boasted that it only took them 2 weeks to put it together. When I told them they wasted 2 weeks of their life they looked at me very puzzled.

All in all it was a great show!

We're coming on friday next year and staying all weekend! Saw 2 cars performing rearend rebuilds in the parking lot, had to do some field repairs to a broken alternater bracket (Duct tape!) cruised like it was 1959, and slept like the dead.

At one point while cruising i looked behind me and saw flashing blues and reds. My heart sank ( hello wreckless driving ticket for burnouts ! ) but as i pulled over, he proceeded to drive on passed me. Thank god!

Also when i got back to camp, and cop rolled by, stopped up on the road, pointed to my car, then to me, and waved his finger, then drove off. At that point i decided to sit in my chair and relax. Driving for the night was over.

Deffinatly will be back next year!

 

I think that's the one that looked like they started with a decent touring body.
