Just registered! Looking forward to a little bit cooler February. Maybe...
The extra mileage will be well worth it for extra day's events. There will be an extra day's event, right...? Cruise? Drags? Reliability Run? Alan?

I was fortunate enough to have Big Daddy autograph my poster from the first billetproof.
His museum is reason enough for me to go down a day early. :)

  4. After the stench of corporate greed, sweaty pits and gianormous RV's with rolling toy boxes filled with muscle cars at the NSRA this weekend, a nice show cool show in the trees at the Alachua County Fairgrounds run by the Billetproof corporate conglomerate (Alan and Melissa) sounds like heaven.

The venue was the site for the Gainesville Music Harvest back when, so there is a little music history there.

I went for the first time last year, and I really enjoyed it. I'm really looking forward to this year's show too.

With any luck, I'll have the Bel Air on the road by then, and this show might be her first opportunity to actually go anywhere!

  15. There are cheaper hotels in Gainesville... not as limited in that department as Ocala.

I don't know about the quality of these two places, there are mixed reviews on both online...

Alamo Motel, 720 NW Santa Fe Blvd, High Springs, FL 32643, (904-454-1248)

Go to google maps street view... looks like 1955...

Cadillac Motel, 405 NW Santa Fe Blvd, High Springs, FL 32643, (904-454-1701)

    http://highspringscadillacmotel.com/ Same with this one...

They are about 20 miles away... but they are cheap.

Try searching for High Springs, FL too.

Artgeco- I asked for the "billetproof discount"
and it was 92 dollars a night instead of 160.
Still a little pricey for me too. But I look forward to this all year so I don't mind splurgin' a bit.

there should be a considerable group discount for Billetproof. you just have to mention that you are there for the show.

less room? Hardly. The fairgrounds is over 100 acres.

the space available on Don's grass is only about 20 acres.

The hotels are less than a couple miles away in downtown Gainesville, which is loaded with bars.
