    IMG_6954.jpeg Hello my fellow HAMB’ers.

As you have read recently I had a massive heart attack. It came out of no where. We walked the dog and had a bit of chest pain but nothing like you see in the movies. It felt like a bad case of heart burn but I didn’t eat anything too spicy. We got home watched a movie and went to be hoping I’d just wake up and it would be gone. About 4am I woke and the pain was still there so my wife says we should go to the ER.. me being a “dude” I was like how about we do an e-visit (online doctors face time you) but they are smart and don’t have an option for heart pains. So I drove myself and my wife Evette to the hospital
And within 15 minutes of arriving they said Piero your life is going to change. I was rushed by ambulance to Pomona Valley that is top notch for heart issues and within 30 minutes I was going into surgery to have a quintuple bypass surgery to save my life. I woke up 19 hours later in ICU. My poor wife had to see me swollen with a ventilator down my throat and tubes coming out on stomach…. A horrifying sight for her.

Fortunately when I woke up the ventilator had been removed and I wasn’t in any pain thankfully cause the drugs I was on. As the days went by it was test after test and doctors and X-ray machines.. but the pain was more of a discomfort and by the 3rd day I was on no pain meds and slowly walking around to the point the doctors were really impressed with the progress. By Friday I was on my way home just 5 days later feeling amazing with a new lease on life. They say it was part genetics part all the shit food, smoking, drugs alcohol I abused over the 52 years of living.

I have never felt better..my life is a new! I’m ready to get healthy and in the best shape of my life. Right now still no pain but I’m on a strict diet and doing everything the doctors say to do… but even doing the suggested laps around my living room I get exhausted.. but every day I get a little stronger ….

I highly suggest you guys get checkout cause it not called the “Silent Killer” for no reason.
    We aren’t getting any younger.

whilst I was down my Mad Fab Brain couldn’t stop creating and I’ve been working on something that will help spread some info on this to us knuckle head hot rodders that will be really cool and I’m super excited to tell you guys about it. I feel I had to got though this to be able communicate info so now I’m on a mission!

I want to thank all you who donated to the gofundme and been watching my youtube channel and just overwhelming out poor of people that supported me and MFS over all the years. It’s really humbling.

Thanks to Ryan and Jive bomber for the kind words and love. I love you all!

if you like to donate here’s the go fund me

Glad to hear you’re on the mend. It’s not too often we get a reprieve in this life. Know a guy who drove himself to the hospital thinking he was having a heart attack. He walked into the ER and told the attendant nurse he thought he was having a heart attack, as soon as the words left his mouth he hit the floor dead. Things happened very fast after that, he was technically dead for 17 minutes and had memories of it as well, a good story. I hope you can make the best of it and make every minute count. Prayers for a good recovery.

Great to hear you're on the mend! Enjoyed our conversation & chuckles at the British NSRA Hotrod Supernationals last August on the Saturday afternoon as you and Lucky were closing down for the day. Snagging the big show prize on Sunday in my green 3w coupe was cool too! Take care and follow doctors orders.

God Bless our wives! We would be a pretty sorry bunch without them. Evette looks like the hero of this story (you chose wisely!) A real wake-up call! Mad respect to you both.

  22. Having been through a triple, and then a double, and then a stent I understand what you are going through. Keep doing what the doctor says, and it will get better. Keep smiling, and be thankful for modern medicine. I am glad to see that you survived.

I'm so glad to hear your mending good! I'm on my sixth week from having my chest cracked open and a new Aortic root and Valve put in. Listen to what they tell you and seriously use your hugging pillow! That dang thing may seem childish, but it saves you alot of pain! Also, please listen to them about your sternum protocol, you can really mess things up for yourself if you start doing things before they let you! you can PM me when you want about any of my hurdles through this! Keep Doing those laps!!! Larry

  25. Sounds familiar. I drove myself to the local ER in the midst of a heart attack in 2016. I got into triage with a margin of about 45 seconds and then I coded. The pain on the way was not too bad, but I had all the classic signs going on. I had to be very careful driving, timing traffic lights, etc.

I was able to make 2 phone calls while walking into the ER and these people came to the ER just in time to see the shit-show that I was at the center of. I had a bypass a few hours later, someone told me that a famous heart surgeon was flown in from NYC... I found out later that he lived close by.

I was kept in a coma for 4 days and they had me cooled down to limit brain damage. The recovery was tough, I was out of work for 3 months. Since then I eat better (somewhat), drink less and stay active. I had an AFIB issue that I had a procedure for about 6 months ago.

I woke up from the coma... that was weird af in itself.... I looked at my general condition and saw that all of my incisions were 100% healed, no scabs, no bandaids... nothing. I thought I had to have been out for 2 weeks. I did have an army of doctors in to see me after the coma, they prodded, said hmmmm a lot. They had never seen someone heal that fast. To this day, minor even major cuts and burns are healed within a few days.

  27. I worked with one guy a few years before my event. He had chest pains at work, decided to go home although he had offers to go to the hospital. He was also a local FD EMT. He goes home, his wife comes home and wants to go to the ER... he said no but agreed to see the family doctor the next day. He goes to sleep and that was the end of the road for him.

Glad you are on the mend man.
Heard a good car/life saying that definitely applies.

"A car tire is like life....it truly goes around only once, so make darn sure there is air in it so it can roll smooth and freely and never run flat "

Sounds about right. We know how flat tires run.....they don't.
    Take care.
