Does anyone have any idea what this steering box may be out of?

And if so, know where to find a parts drawing of it, disassembled...

thanks a lot for any help

Glad someone had a clue about yours. My steering boxes seemed to mystify everyone. Going to research them more later this week. Rod

Thank you,.... from what I'm seeing online... the regular trucks look different... disassemble from the column side.. this is BIG....would it be a dump truck or something of that scale?

Get ahold of KCMongo. He's into big truck of that era.
It looks just like the one I took off my '54 Chevy 1/2 ton pu.

  6. Looks like a 1 1/2 ton, They have around 6 turns lock to lock.
That pitman arm needs to be shortened to have the drag link parallel to the frame. (bump steer), replace it with a newer C-10

Thanks guys.... This was put in the car in 1959 pretty much just like this.... in 57 and 58 it had a smaller box, I'm guessing the 1/2 ton of the same type, judging by the photos I have.... just wanted to know for sure so i could be able to find parts if i get it apart and it needs anything... may just need adjusted though... has a good bit of play in it right now....
