This month it is a Thursday through Saturday swap meet. February 21-23. I'll be there as usual for the last 8 years. Any other HAMBers attending? I'll be setting next to a red(not HAMB friendly) '74 Cheby Pro Street truck I have for sale with a bunch of my stuff I just don't need anymore. Stop by and say high!
Qualcom stadium in San Diego. This swap meet is celebrating it's 53rd anniversary this year. I think 53rd is correct anyway
Thursday is vendor set up with the swap Fri & Sat. I'm shooting to be there Friday. Hopefully the weather is clear. Been very rainy this Winter. http://www.big3partsexchange.com/
Planning on going on Friday unless it rains. Not sure how it will be now that a promoter is running things. One thing is for sure, it now costs to enter in addition to paying for parking.
This is what we have to pay when we go to any Pomona Car Show/Swap Meet function. ie: GNRS, LARS. It's up to $12 for parking plus the gate fee.
Isn't that the way it's been all along? Once you've payed for parking your in and no further fee needed.
Always had to pay to park but you got in free. The Big 3 web site doesn't mention an entrance fee but I find it hard to believe that there won't be an admission charge now that a promoter is in charge. Hope I'm wrong. Regardless I'll fight the Friday morning traffic to be there at 8am.
Rain should be out of here by midweek before the meet. At least that's what the weather reporters are saying at the moment subject to change of course.
Did the load in today , cold, windy and rainy Tomorrow looking good , hopefully sell all my crap so I can reorganize the shed....The trick is not to fill it back up with other peoples crap
Thanks for the weather update. Leaving town at 5 am after a stop for coffee and donuts. Should be there by the time the gates open.
Weather.com hourly looks good, just cold. Leaving here around 6am...............can’t wait......it’s like Christmas .
Just got back. $15.00 to park, no charge to get in. Got here before 8am opening. Not that large of a crowd and no one was keeping anyone from walking around the gates before opening time. There were a whole lot of available spaces, many more than years past. Many of the vendors were still setting up at 10am. Spent all of $15.00. There were some fairly priced parts but a lot of overpriced ones as well. IMO.
Did pretty good today , still breaking even with sales and purchase's The crowd is down for sure but it is Friday. We will see what Sat brings. Made some good buys today, only bought stuff I know I'm gonna use on my projects, Bought a cherry set of hood hinges for my 57 ,still with the og zinc coating and not worn out. Got some parts for my buddy Dave's 64 C10 and some 60s 70s off topic stuff. Gonna drive my Stude in tomorrow and my bud Butch is driving his blown Willys in.
Crowds were down, but I liked being able to go early before they actually opened. Found a few things for my projects and some for my friends.
I been here since Thursday. Sold a bunch of stuff. Found a bunch of stuff. Old gas pump sold and going to Belgium! My son and I are roughing it in heated motorhome and hot showers, Ha!
